Nose pads for Silhouette frames

Here are specific nose pads designed for a particular brand of eyeglasses.  The brand is called Silhouette.  They are made in Austria and are well known for there design and the fact that they are very lightweight eyeglass frames.  Silhouette first design of the nose pad arm(the stem that carries the nose pads), was a typical slide on nose pad design.  But with recent changes, the brand has modified the nose pad arm and therefore made it necessary to have a specific nose pad for that frame.  Although the Silhouette brand is the first to incorporate this nose pad design, there have been similar designs in the past that would label the mount style of the nose pads as plug-in.  More commonly found in Nike brand eyeglass frames and a few others as well.

Here are some specifics about this nose pad;

     1.  The pad length is approx. 12.5mm in along the longest area of the nose pad.
     2.  The width is approx. 7.5mm across the widest portion of the nose pad.
     3.  The area where the nose pad arm inserts or plugs into the nose pad measures approx. 2.3mm at the longest part.
     4.  The opening measures 1mm top to bottom of the area where the nose pad arm inserts.
     5.  The pad is made of a semi-soft material called vinyl which allows medium flexibility.

Although the area inside the pad has an area of 3mm in length, and the opening is 2.3mm, the nose pad arm will fit into this opening as the material of the pad allows a little stretch to permit the wider arm to enter a slightly smaller opening.  This allows the pad to stay in place and not to be able to retract.

Note:  As we have mentioned above, this pad is solely designed for the Silhouette brand eyeglasses.  However, this does not claim the fact that other frames may not have a similar method of mounting, which opens the opportunity for other frames to fit the same pad.  Be sure to measure the area of your nose pad arm, when contemplating using this nose pad for an alternate frame with similar design.

Reminder--  It is very important that you know your frames method of mounting, such as snap-in, screw-in, plug-in, etc..  This is the first aspect to look at when replacing nose pads.  All other options concerning size, shape, material, etc. are to be considered only after the correct mount style has been verified.  Should you have any questions or concerns or just need help to figure out which style you have, email us at

    Silhouette nose pads

It was great locating a source for these nose pads. I could find them in any retail optician location. I have replaced with silicone pads that slip off repetedly. These are the only ones I don't have to worry about losing. They stay out on my nose and don't slide. Ordering was easy and delivery very quick. Thank you NPK!

    Hard to find? Not here!

We asked multiple optometrists for help finding these uniquely formed nose pads and no one had them or knew where to find replacements. I googled "nose pads for Adidas silhouettes" and voila - there was Nose Pad King! Your product is well described and was delivered quickly. I already have to order a new pair since I lost one, but now I have a source. Thank you!

    Exactly what I expected

I was replacing nose pads that were not very comfortable. These fit the frame, fit my nose, are comfortable, and slide less than the previous pads.

    Right stuff!

Silhouettes' Achilles heel is their nose pads. Lose one and the optician wants a fortune while you wait a week. Or, get them from NPK for a very reasonable price in a couple of days! Hint: get extras and store them where they won't get lost. Why not be prepared instead of letting something so seemingly inconsequential ruin a good time? Thanks, NPK - good stuff!

    good product

These nose pads are a little smaller than ones that originally came with my glasses. They are also whiter and more opaque than the original. However, neither of these factors diminish the fact that they are a perfectly fine replacement.

Pretty good, but not an exact match

This was the only place I could find replacement plug-in pads PERIOD. However, they aren't an exact match for my Silhouette rimless 7690 frames, which came with slightly larger, D-shaped pads, which I found a bit more comfortable than these smaller pads. These can, however, be used with these frames, and don't significantly slide around in spite of the smaller size. Very happy with the customer service - item arrived very quickly and in good order. These are sold in left/right pairs and fit the glasses snugly. I got two sets, just in case.

    no more lost nose pads

Posted by Mark on 28th Aug 2014

I have worn Silhouette frames for over a decade, probably more, but until recently all seemed well. However, with no change in my behaviors, suddenly I was losing nose pads. after this happened for the third time, embarrassed to ask the eye glass place to replace them (they did it for free) I bought these, thinking "I'll do this myself". I got a bunch but when they arrived they were not what I expected. Sitting there I though, I have to return all of these (I got 5 sets!) when I realized that they were not the same. Not tiny mushrooms, but hollowed out with a tiny hole at the end of the pad. It slipped on easily and really cannot fall off! Success, ease and smiles.
